Sharath Jois chanted the Gurustotrani mantra. At every conference, Sharath begins with a short chant—part of a stotra that pays homage to the Guru. It is beautiful.

Narasimhan explained its meaning: "To the Guru who removes the darkness of ignorance from our unseeing eyes with the collyrium of light and knowledge, opening our eyes—I bow to that Guru."
